Gaylord Building

The Gaylord building was built in 1837 using limestone that was unearthed while the canal was being dugged. The building served as a storehouse for I&M Canal construction supplies and later on for grain. Currently it houses a restaurant and an I&M Canal visitor center. Lockport, IL
